Handcrafted Cottage Style Pillow for your Chic Cottage Look
This pillow started with my own sketch of how Sunbonnet Sue would look all grown up. I then transferred the sketch to muslin.
I then got to work appliqueing her dress with a vintage fabric that I've been hoarding and embroidered her straw bonnet with a yellow rose of Texas and gave her another rose to hold in her hand.
Boy, did I spend a lot of time on those roses, but I wanted them to be perfect.
Her tiny bodice is accented with vintage tatting at the pointed waist.
The final touch was a lovely soft, buttery yellow popcorn chenille that picks out the colors of her rose and compliments the side panels of Laura Ashley's 'English Country Print' in a harmony of blues on cream and scattered with more yellow roses.
And now Sue is ready to join her new home among your shabby cottage collectables!
Pillow is filled with the finest quality non-hypoallergenic poly fiber fill and hand stitched closed.
