Cottage Style Handcrafted Pillow
All of my pillows are lovingly handmade from vintage fabrics from my own personal stash. Each pillow is custom made and one of a kind. I never duplicate the same look twice.
This pillow took me ages to handcraft, but I'm very pleased with the results.
I started by appliqueing a schoolhouse on muslin, then hand quilting the block with cotton batting that I make myself from natural cotton fibers.
For a finishing touch, sweet little rosebuds and leaves are quilted into the corners of the block.
All those tiny stitches!
I bordered my quilt block with a gorgeous, vintage look cotton fabric scattered with red roses on a ticking stripe design and edged it with vintage tatting and a frilly white organdy ruffle.
More vintage fabric of a soft, red and white micro check was added to the top and bottom to pull everything together.
On the back you'll find an elegant matelasse with embossed hibiscus flowers and leaves.
Now this sweetie is ready for a new home among your cottage chic pillow collection.

This pillow measures 16 inches long and 11 inches wide.
Filled with a high quality, non-hypoallergenic poly fill fiber and hand stitched closed.
